Order fresh produce here!

Accessing fresh and healthy produce is easier and more important than ever through our Farm Stand and the Urban Agriculture Cooperative. As part of the Newark community, we strive to provide resources and access to healthy food options, which is why we continue to partner with the Urban Agriculture Cooperative for their online farmers market!

Order directly from their market below!

Urban Ag Coop is an organization dedicated to connecting local growers to urban consumers to improve and empower the local food economy. The Cooperative Market helps them do this by helping local farmers reach NJ communities and supply them with fresh, delicious and locally grown produce.

As part of this partnership, our Hawthorne Ave Urban Farm will not only supply some of the produce sold online, but our Youth Farm Stand will also be one of the featured pickup locations. Shop for vegetables, greens, and fruit as well as fresh flowers, herbs, baked goods, eggs, and even specialty items like cold relief tea blends and wildflower honey right from your home!

Online ordering market hours are Thursday 8am through Monday 5:30pm and pickup is available on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday at various locations throughout Newark. You can also stop by to visit our farm and shop at our Hawthorne Ave Farm Stand on Tuesdays as well as shop AND pickup your online order at our Prince Street Farm Stand on Wednesdays.

Welcome Back Birds!
Did the birds know there has been a lockdown? Who knows? But we do know there are plenty of birds visiting the Urban Environmental Center and we can use them to check in with ourselves and with nature.

While parents check out our Youth Farm Stand, kids can:
build a take-home bird house
use binoculars on a guided bird walk through the garden
make a take-home pair of "bird viewers"
learn some bird scouting and sketching tips
Masks are required and social distancing will be practiced at this outdoor event. Limited to 8 children. Pre-registration is required. Email soleary@citybloom.org

If you want to get a flying start check out this cool birdsong tutorial from the Cornell Bird Academy. https://academy.allaboutbirds.org/features/bird-song-hero/bird-song-hero-tutorial
