Growing Gardeners Workshop Series
This series focuses on helping you learn the basics of gardening and introduces you to advanced topics that can be explored as your skills progress.

Registration is required for all workshops.

Kitchen Hydroponics
Saturday, September 22 • 11am-12pm • $5
So soil, no problem! Grow your salad right on your counter-top in a home hydroponics system. Basic leafy-green growing will be covered in this workshop, with a bonus intro to seed sprouting. Attendees receive a packet of sprouting seeds to try at home.

Growing Garlic
Saturday, October 20 • 11am-12pm • $5
Fall is a mild season which is perfect for gardening in New Jersey. Some crops, such as garlic, need to be planted now or enjoyment and harvest next year. Learn about proper planting techniques and take home a bulb to plant in your own yard.

Creating Compost
Saturday, November 17 • 11am-12pm • $5
It’s always a good time to start composting – your garden will thank you later! Learn about the many benefits of composting, what items can be composted, and how to compost in small spaces.

Plant Propagation
Saturday, January 26 • 11am-12pm • $10
Did you know a single stem, or even a leaf, can grow into a mature plant? Visit our greenhouse to learn about our current propagation projects and select a plant to propagate yourself! Participants will take home what they propagate.

Planning Your Harvest
Saturday, March 23 • 11am-12pm • $5
If you find yourself standing in your overgrown garden every August, this class is for you. We will discuss proper spacing and how to maximize growing space without creating a tangled jungle! Measure your growing space before attending to receive one-on-one advice.
