So You Want To Start A School Garden

Whether you are thinking about starting a garden at your school, or want to improve the garden that you have, this workshop is for you! We will discuss how to plan and design your garden, basic gardening skills, necessary resources (including fundraising for your garden), outdoor classroom management, and what you can teach in the gardens.

Nuts and Bolts – Seeds and Seedlings

Wednesday, January 30 • 4 – 5:30 pm • $5

Focus on the mechanics of growing (mostly) edible plants within the school garden context. Even if you are an experienced home gardener this workshop will help you plan and grow a productive, organic, bountiful garden during the school year. Will include hands-on seed starting.

From Plant to Plate

Wednesday, March 13 • 4 – 5:30 pm • $5

Get comfortable preparing, cooking, and eating with your students. Learn the basics of good nutrition to get students started on a lifetime of good health. Hands-on cooking and tasting.
